The contents of this book are the words of His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, the 12th incarnation of Tsangpa Gyare Yeshe Dorje (1161-1211), the founder of the Drukpa lineage as well as the eleventh-century Indian saint Naropa (1016-1100). The book covers a variety of subjects, especially on spirituality, guru-disciple relationship and Kor Nag or "Black Offering". The Gyalwang Drukpa also shares in the commentaries extensive details about his birth and life before recognition.
"Progress in life has to be made on both the spiritual and mundane fronts. One has to be aware of every action in daily life from drinking tea, eating food, the way one relates with other human beings and animals, to dealing with the ecological environment. Self-development is the main goal of our life."
